Spex Glance is a small, free, open-source Mac app that keeps tabs on your open sports positions on Kalshi. Current and upcoming games, what you paid, what each side is worth right now, what it pays if it hits. Think of the Stocks app, but for your Kalshi sports positions.

Kalshi's portfolio page updates live too. It also needs a browser tab, a login, and the rest of the site around it. This is the same feed in a plain window you can leave open, or a number in the menu bar, without the browser.
Straight from Kalshi
Prices arrive over Kalshi's WebSocket ticker, so the numbers are as current as Kalshi sends them. Grouped by game, with start times and "LIVE · 28m in" clocks, and Won or Lost once a game settles.
Nothing stored
It streams and displays. No database, no history, no server in between. The one thing kept on your Mac is your API key, in the Keychain.

It can't place a bet. That's the point.
It runs on a read-only Kalshi API key and has no order code. Sports positions only. Anything else you hold is counted in the totals, not listed. It relays Kalshi's numbers and has no opinion about them.

Kalshi has no "sign in with Kalshi" for third-party apps, so connecting is a one-time manual step on kalshi.com. The app walks you through it.
- Download and open Spex GlanceGrab the latest release from GitHub. It's notarized, so macOS opens it like any other app.
- Create a read-only API key on KalshiThe connect wizard points you at the right page on kalshi.com. Create a key with read-only permissions and drop the key file into the app.
- GlanceYour open sports positions show up grouped by game. Turn on the menu bar item if you want it, and get back to whatever you were doing.

Is this affiliated with Kalshi?
No. Spex Glance is an independent open-source project. It's not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by Kalshi. "Kalshi" is their trademark.
Where does my key go?
Into your macOS Keychain, on your Mac. The app talks directly to Kalshi's API. There's no Spex server in between.
Are the numbers real time?
As current as Kalshi's ticker sends them. They can lag or be wrong. Confirm on Kalshi before acting on anything.
Does it collect anything?
An anonymous install count with macOS version and CPU architecture, sent with Sparkle's update check. No account, no identifiers, no position data. Details in the privacy note.
Does Kalshi have a Mac app or desktop app?
Not that we know of. Kalshi has a website and iPhone and Android apps. Spex Glance is an independent, read-only Mac app that shows your Kalshi sports positions using Kalshi's public API. It isn't made by Kalshi.
Does it work with Polymarket, FanDuel, DraftKings, or other sportsbooks?
No. Kalshi only. Spex Glance reads positions through Kalshi's API, and the other platforms have different APIs, different account models, and in the sportsbooks' case no public read API at all. Nothing planned there.
Is there an iPhone version? A self-hosted one?
iOS is on the list, not shipped. Spex Board, a self-hosted web dashboard for homelabs, is in the works. Spex Glance works on its own and won't need it.
Why is it called Spex?
A haruspex was a Roman priest who predicted the future by reading the entrails of a sacrificed animal. That's roughly what checking your Kalshi portfolio at 11pm feels like. Spex is the tail end of that word, and also specs, as in the glasses in the logo. Less mess, same anxiety.
